“Strings #3” was commissioned by
GenArt for the opening night event of Scope Art Fair in Miami, during the
Art Basel Art Fair, 2006.
this installment of the series further develops this idea of suggested “planes of existence” (as per string theory) by expanding the piece onto three dimensions.
this installment combines two, synchronized projections of a revolving door onto separate, fixed planes of cloth hanging in adjacent geometrical planes.
by doubling the planes of projection, the holographic quality of the doors increases. it alludes further into the ever-changing possibilities of interaction between the different “realities” lying beyond our present understanding of time, space and light according to the controversial new theory of modern physics.
